Name a great website you would recommend to others.
Well Trained Mind Message Boards This is a homeschool message board, but I have learned way more things on this board than I think any other message board. Not just homeschool stuff. House stuff, health stuff, budget stuff. The women there are great and have such a vast array of information.

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how often do you dream at night?
10 - I dream every night.

Did you have a pet as a child? If so, what kind and what was its name?
Yes, we had dogs. Beggar and Sassy. Beggar was some sort of terrier, I think. Sassy was a pekashnoodle - pekingese, schnauzer and poodle.

If you had the chance to star in a commercial, what would you choose to advertise?
I have no idea. I would never want to be on TV. It would be weird to see myself! It is too early in the morning for me to think of something I would want to promote. Sorry!
Dessert
What is your favorite kind of hard candy?
I am not really a hard candy person. I guess if I have to pick one it would be Jolly Ranchers especially the Green Apple kind.
Praise!

If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why?
I think a Labrador. When we go walking we always see our friend, Eli. He is a gentle (but a little skittish) black lab. I love the way he smiles at us as we come around the corner. You can really see it on his face that he is so happy we have come to visit him. He will ever so slowly meander up to us and then I gently put my open hand down below him. He will come and let me pet him for just a second. It really makes me happy and Sebastian loves to see him. When he doesn't want to go for a walk with me, I will ask him if he wants to go see Eli. He almost always decided he wants to go.

What does the color purple make you think of?
At first glance of this question I would say it made me think of the movie The Color Purple! Funny, huh? The actual color purple is making me think of concord grapes.

Approximately how long does it take you to get ready each morning?
This is a tricky question. Does it mean how long does it take me to get a shower, dress and fix my hair? Me - personally - just me... I can get a shower, dressed, and hair done in about 30 minutes. Does this question mean how long would it take me to wake up and immediately get myself, Savannah and Sebastian ready to go? Bare minimum, I would need an hour. I just told my mom, yesterday, that I am constantly forgetting to build in the 10 minute tantrum time. Sebastian has been having a sort of rough few weeks. For some reason every time I want to leave the house, he has a meltdown of some sort. I don't remember to build in the 10 minutes it takes for me to convince him to keep his shoes on, stop laying in the driveway, etc. And then there is another way to look at this question - believe it or not. Generally, I don't wake up and "get ready". I wake up and check email, blog, etc. I don't drink coffee or eat breakfast, so this is my wake up time. I spend about a half hour (okay maybe an hour) on my laptop. Currently, I have been spending it on the porch swing - trying to convince myself it is cool and fall - it is NOT though. It is an illusion. Then I will go shower - takes about 10 minutes. I get dressed and begin cleaning or school or whatever. I let my hair air dry. Eventually, I make it back to fix my hair and do all that pretty stuff. Sometimes it is fairly quickly and sometimes it is not until lunchtime that I am officially "ready". There you have it - way more than you ever probably wanted to know about me getting ready, huh?

How many cousins do you have, and are you close to them?
I have to count this one out. Ummm... I have 3 cousins from my dad's side. I have not talked to any of them in years. I do know what is happening with two of them because my mom talks to my aunt. I have 2 cousins on my mom's side. Again, I haven't talked to them in years. Occasionally, I will hear about one of them because my sister and her are not just cousins, they are friends. When I was a kid I watched this particular cousin's children. Becky and Charlie. They were like my first cousins more than my real first cousins because I saw them all the time. I don't really have contact with them now, but I get updates every once in a while from the grapevine. Now if this question was how many cousins to MY KIDS have... oh my... that sure is a big number!

Take your initials (first, middle, last) and come up with something else those letters could stand for. (Example: SFO = Sweet Funny Otter)

House sale prayers please...
I am a superstitious person by nature. I don't really know why. Maybe it has something to do with my OCD personality. I will throw salt over my shoulder if I spill it. I don't like people to open umbrellas indoors. If I drop a spoon, I will say a child is coming to visit (a fork means a woman and a knife means a man... a LARGE spoon means a large child - you get the idea). We are forever knocking on wood around here. We even joke that I bought my car with the fake wood interior just so I could knock on wood. I have many little quirks. One of them is feeling as if I will jinx something if I talk about it. I am finding that the more I am more comfortable with asking for prayers that I have to let go of the feeling that I am jinxing myself for speaking the things I would like prayers for. Silly, I know. I really do know this and it is a huge leap for me to write about how odd my mind sometimes works. Anyway, a nice couple came to see our house yesterday. They seemed so nice and like they would fit here very well. I called their realtor this morning to get some feedback. She said they really liked our house, but the pool was a little smaller than they had wanted. They are supposed to look at a few more houses this afternoon and make a decision in the morning. We are on their list of possibilities. So... here is me saying what I feel like may be jinxing this - please pray that these are the people to buy my house. I am so ready for these people to be the right ones!

Maybe this will be IT...
Today we are having Savannah's birthday party with all her friends. It is here at our house. I haven't had a house showing all week. Not a one! This morning as sure as you could bet on it - I got a call from a realtor wanting to show the house between 3 and 4. I told her that was fine, but that we wouldn't be able to vacate since we were having a birthday party at that time. She was REALLY NICE about it and said not to worry. Her client is only in town for the weekend and very much would like to see our house. No mind you - every time we have a showing - I take the kids and dog to Grandma's and make my house METICULOUS! Needless to say, there will be kids here and somehow I doubt my house will remain all that clean in the time they are here. Oh well! It is up to God now! If this is who He has chosen to buy my house, then they will love it no matter who or what is going on when they see. I sure hope they are the ones!

Have you ever seen an ELEPHANT dance?
We also stopped along the way and took a picture with the pretty fall decor. This was the ONLY pretty fall decor we found - the rest was covered up Halloween Horror night decor. Not so pretty to say the least.
Next we went to Timbuktu and road the rides that they love there. Savannah really likes this one ride, but Sebastian is too small and I am a ride wimp. She got to ride this one all by herself - LITERALLY! There was nobody else on the entire ride. Just her - you guessed it - because it was HER BIRTHDAY!Finally, this is what my kids look like after a busy day of riding all the rides they wanted at Busch Gardens. I want to get back there on a cool day and actually see all the wonderful animals they have there. Hopefully before we move (if we ever really move)!

This is where I grew up...
Tricia says the trees are so much bigger than she remembers.
We didn't have a sliding glass door there. We had a window and then there was an air conditioner below it. The days BEFORE most people had central air.
The person that took this pictures was standing in "Kari's Korner". I shared a room with my sister until I was 12. She was 8 years older than me. She didn't much want to have my stuff in her space. So my mom invented "Kari's Korner". It was a pretty good sized part of the basement. I had all my toys and things there. I loved it! I guess it is not there anymore, but it still in my memories. My mom was so good at doing things like that.
